No doubts about the Premier Foods Company battling over its beans labeled Branston. The reason is ironical and a bit saddening for those who go by brands. What is ironical in the bean battle is that the best bean brand Heinz had the worst taste. The bean poll has proven that a Tesco brand bean, the cheapest in the supermarket has a fuller and tastier tin.
Therefore, I feel that the Branston brand is wasting its time battling Heinz…my piece of suggestion to the Premium Foods is that instead of forking out £10million for taking over Heinz, they should wait for the poll to end. Expert Nick Sandler, creative chef for sandwich chain Pret a Manger, carried out our blind taste test of four brands, has given a 8 on 10 to Tescos, so the wise buyers might divert to a cheaper and tastier variety of canned beans. Branston watch out for the largest selling brand now…a hasty bean soup might spoil the fun.
