Roasting:

Roasting meat is important as it drips off the excess fat or oil while cooking. You can use a roasting or baking rack for the purpose. Let the meat come to room temperature before cooking it. Also pre heat the oven before putting the meat in it.

Adding herbs or spices while roasting can provide the right amount of anti-oxidants and nutrition to the body. They also enhance the smell and flavor of the dish.

Steaming:

Delicate vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower need to be steamed. Keep them in strainers dipped in boiling water to steam them. The same method can be used to steam chicken or pork.

Braising:

Place the frying pan on high heat and then spray cooking spray on the pan. Then cook the meat by placing on the pan, till it turns brown. This method is called browning.

Stir-fry method:

Steam frying method:

Pour 1tbsp of oil (preferably olive oil) in a frying pan. Add the vegetables and meat and stir-fry them for some time. Add water to the mixture and lower down the flame. Cover the pan with the lid and let the food cook. This keeps the nutrients intact and helps cooking faster with less oil. This is called the steam fry method.

Poaching method:

This method is good for meat, tomatoes, peaches, etc. Take a small pan and add the vegetables or meat. Add small amount of water. Cover it with the lid and let it cook. Remove it as soon as the food becomes tender. It can be tested using a fork.

Baking:

This is a less oil method of cooking. Preheat the oven and then place the baking tray containing the food. Bake it for the desired time and remove the cooked food.
