The Weird Food Series has come to an end and I want to thank all the bloggers who have participated in the series. We are presenting the weird foods series in a snapshot, this snapshot will tell you that the weird food series was not just a collection of weird foods for us, it is an entirely different experience. As we are at the end of the Weird Food Spree, we know how much we are going to miss the peals of laughter and cheers we had while on the series…a nutshell of the Weird Food Series just for you.
On 28th, November 2005, we had a trip to Asia, and found the Bird’s Nest Soup in Malaysia, the kick from the tartar horse in Malaysia sent us to an Airag frenzy, we were nearly frozen to death nwith the horsemeat ice cream in Japan…without any snowfall, the smell of coconut oil actually healed my running nose in South India, I know how we were swirming in the pool of Shiokara with squid guts in Japan.
On 29th,November 2005 we flew to North America. We were in holiday humor in New Brunswick as we were fiddling with ferns, then we got on to some work and collected pork scraps in Pennsylvania for preparing scrapple for dinner, carrying a Geoduck clam was heavy for us when we tried to go for some adventures in Washington, we got on to the habit of eating junk food in the junk food city Canada, while trying the junk food casserole, Poutine, we celebrated for a long time in Mexico, nibbling on Chitterlings
On 30th, November 2005 we had to search for honey ants to survive in Columbia,South America; we were shocked when we were served guinea pigs on spit, the Morcillas in Argentina helped us to recover from the previous shock, but then we were told to be careful with cassava in Brazil.
On 1st, December 2005, we measured the vastness of Europe with its weird servings. We were really happy to have the White pudding in Ireland at breakfast, the smell of fat meltings or schmaltz,in Germany made us reel from top to bottom, the Kishke took us to the extremes of having cow’s scrap, which we later came to know were sausages made from cow’s intestines, we tried not to have the first layer of a cow’s tripe in France, the National breakfast of Scotland made us feel, high until we came to know that they were scraps folded in sausages and what a weird name it is called as Haggis.
On 2nd, December 2005 we were swimming in Oceania. We were nibbling on a bread sandwich in Australia which had Vegemite spread on it, we had real fun roasting the witchetty grubs,in Australia, they were tasting like chicken, we were stunned to see the national animal kangaroo grilled on the road side,in Australia, having beetroot in burger did seem a bit weird to us in Australia.
As we were moving towards the heat in Africa. A mouthful of insects was a great scene for us in Kenya, we tried to spot the goat head in an upscale African restaurant, so that we can know where to spot the eyes and the ears when the dish is served, egusi was yummy and different, as it had the melony flavor in it, must say our fingers were becoming sticky with the gooey, gooey okra.
