How much time gap should be there between the starter and the main course recipe?

I love to have soups in winters as they keep you warm for long and they are also a good appetizer. I have decided to go for a soup in the starter but I don’t know what to cook in the main course. I was wondering if anyone can tell me the name of the recipes that I can make in winters. Which is your favorite main course recipe in winters? How much time gap you think is appropriate between the starter and the main course? Do you suggest serving drink with the main course?
