Do I need to contact some food photographers for taking help in my cook book project?

Well, I have decided to continue a cook book project and I am going to purchase a camera for that. I have no idea whether to pick digital or film roll camera. I have two choices of a Nikon D700 or Mamiya RZ 6 professional cameras. I want suggestion from all active food photographers about picture work and essentials. Do I need to contact some food photographers for taking help me in my cook book project? I’m desperately looking for positive censure, opinions, tips and any advice. Please help me out?
